Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse group of technical professionals to work with the project team to develop the strategy and execution plan for the construction, commissioning and start-up of main process units, utility, pipelines and marine facilities.
- Manage fabrication and installation sites within 2nd LNG terminal onshore connecting infrastructure. Project/construction sites are executed in a live port and offsite fabrication shops, both onshore and marine involving multiple trades, suppliers and logistic challenges.
- Accountable for the overall construction, installation and pre-commissioning in accordance with the cost, schedule, quality and HSSE targets.
- Provide upfront constructability input to project specifications, standards and execution strategies that are aligned with the project needs and recognition of contractor’s capacities and capabilities.
- Provide guidance and interface management to the project and ensure that construction technical assurance frameworks are adhered to.
- Implement contract strategies that enable projects to be executed to benchmarked world-class standards and provide feedback to continually improve upon them.
- Support HSSE Manager with the site management HSSE system for site team personnel, ensure adequate training is provided to meet required HSSE competencies and challenge the Contractor for continuous improvement and ownership of their HSSE-MS system.
- Ensure that the appropriate quantity and quality of audits are conducted of site HSE and Quality Plans to ensure compliance and delivery on project requirements.
- Establish communication systems, documentation controls and performance metrics for management and timely response to construction/site queries, non-conformance reports, and change order requests between the site team and EPC contractor.
- Coordinate submission of the monthly progress report including cost, schedule and safety performance, identification of associated threats and development of measures and recovery plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Ensure that procurement and QC procedures for engineered equipment are being followed and ensure that maintenance and preservation practices associated with Flawless Project Delivery are met.
- Participate in the coaching and development of staff to build construction execution capacity and capability and provide leadership through continuous exhibition of core behaviours.
- Participate constructability review, peer reviews, cold eye reviews, etc. to enable the successful completion of project.
Work Experiences
- Proven track record as a site/construction manager having successfully executed and delivered at least 1 major (>$200 million) onshore/LNG terminal project. Strong background in all onshore and marine execution aspects of project delivery (procurement, fabrication, integration, installation, and commissioning).
- At least 15 years’ experience in the verification of fabrication and installation of onshore/LNG terminal facilities.
- High commitment to the HSSE processes and understanding of the importance they have on the long term success of the project and asset.
- Skilled in all aspects of construction engineering and one or more aspects of technical expertise. Deep understanding of interaction and dependencies between all trades.
- Able to build and lead strong unified teams in diverse multi-cultural environments.
- Commercially knowledgeable with participation in commercial negotiations and contractor management.
- High personal energy level and a proven track record in achieving stretching personal and business goals.
Education Requirements
- Degree in Engineering from a reputable university
