Engineer (Electrical)

GENERAL OVERVIEW
As part of the Instruments, Control and Electrical (ICE) team, the Engineer (Electrical) plays a key role in providing maintenance and technical support at the LNG terminal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, reliability, and safe operation of all electrical systems within the terminal, from the perspective of the electrical discipline.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support maintenance activities and reliability improvement initiatives for electrical systems and equipment including ACMV, Motors, CCTV, etc
- Develop and implement reliability programs and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure consistent and efficient maintenance of electrical assets
- Plan and execute minor capital (CAPEX) electrical projects in accordance with company guidelines and engineering best practices
- Investigate electrical equipment failures or malfunctions to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive measures
- Provide electrical engineering support for major terminal expansion projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and system integration
- Work closely with the Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) to ensure the continued integrity and statutory compliance of all electrical systems
- Participate in the terminal’s emergency response team and assume assigned roles and responsibilities during emergency situations
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Sound technical knowledge on high and low voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, load flow, fault level analysis, arc flash
- Familiar with networking concepts and how electrical control system interface with Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Aware of industry standards and codes (e.g., SS 638, IEC, IEE)
- Knowledge of Python programming and machine learning applications in engineering (e.g. predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, data analysis) is highly advantageous
