Internship Description

  • Working with internal stakeholders and external parties so as to assist with performing due diligence and risk evaluation as part of know-your-counterparty (KYC) processes for counterparties and vessels.  Assist with maintaining & updating KYC registers and preparing internal papers to obtain clearances for exceptional cases; and preparing responses for KYC requested against SLNG.
  • Assist with research and checks on various laws and processes globally to process KYC requests; and undertake monitoring on identified counterparties for adverse news.
  • Assist with the development, review and update of internal policies and procedures  (P&P) maintained by the Legal & Compliance department (L&C).
  • Assist with preparing L&C e-advisory and materials for staff training. Planning, developing and arranging campaigns, training sessions (whether in-person or computer-based) and compliance awareness event held for staff in relation to L&C-related topics and L&C’s P&P.
  • Perform periodic reviews and preparing relevant reports relating to L&C matters; and assisting in administrative matters & processing within L&C (such as updating of risk registers).

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate students currently enrolled in Legal, Business, Finance or related programs.

 

 Learning outcomes

  • Developing understanding of compliance-related processes and procedures within an organisation, with exposure to key topics such as AML, ABC, sanctions.
  • Gaining exposure and experience working with internal stakeholders, compliance management and training-development.
