Legal Counsel (2 years contract)

General Overview

The Legal Counsel reports to the General Counsel and will be a key member of the Legal & Compliance function.

 

Role and Responsibilties

The incumbent shall support the General Counsel in providing legal support, including:

  • Assisting on complex transactional and project-related matters primarily related to development of new facilities/infrastructure;
  • This includes drafting, reviewing and negotiation of project-related agreements such as consultancy and services contracts, NDAs, MOU/term sheets, heads of agreements, collaboration /joint venture agreements, O&M, financing work.
  • Advising, developing, reviewing and negotiating key commercial contracts for various terminal services.
  • Supporting the review, evaluation and negotiations of SLNG’s procurement contracts including tender documents, purchase orders, purchase contracts etc.
  • Reviewing of confidentiality agreements/MOUs/JVAs/services and intercompany agreements on collaboration projects.
  • Provision of general legal advice and support on wide range of legal matters from time to time such as employment, disputes and other matters from time to time as assigned.
  • Assisting in legal management activities.
  • Conduct legal training for the company from time to time.

 

Work Experiences

  • Post-qualification experience of 8 to 10 years and admitted to the Singapore Bar, of which at least 3 years of relevant law firm experience /in-house experience in handling project development work.
  • Previous exposure and experience in the following will be an added and distinct advantage:-
    • M&A/financing transactions.
    • Familiarity with LNG/Gas/Energy-related industries or experience in a law firm providing legal advice to these industries.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) from a reputable university.
