Senior Finance Analyst (FP&A)

GENERAL OVERVIEW
We are seeking a high-calibre and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to support the Project Cost Control activities for major capital projects. This role sits at the intersection of project finance and corporate FP&A, providing critical financial insights across CAPEX project cost control and reporting, and Budgeting and Forecasting Cycles.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Cost Control & Reporting
•    Tracking project costs (budget, commitments, actuals, forecast)
•    Performing cost variance analysis and identifying key cost drivers
•    Assist in maintaining cost structures (e.g., WBS, cost codes) and ensuring data accuracy
•    Support preparation of:
•    Project cost reports
•    Cash flow forecasts
•    Estimate at Completion (EAC)
•    Monitor cost trends and highlight potential risks or deviations
•    Ensure consistency and integrity of project financial data across system

 

Governance, Controls & Stakeholder Engagement
•    Ensure compliance with Internal financial policies and governance frameworks, accounting standards and regulatory requirements
•    Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for reporting and project costs
•    Engage cross-functionally with:
•    Project teams, engineers, procurement
•    FP&A and Finance Operations teams
    
Budgeting & Forecasting
•    Support annual budget and periodic reforecast exercises and work closely with business stakeholders to validate assumptions, challenge submissions, and ensure alignment with business plans
•    Consolidate and prepare financial models and reports as required
•    Support multi-year project planning, including CAPEX and OPEX integration

Others
•    Support audits and finance reviews relating to project and financial reporting
•    Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements (e.g. SAP, SAC)
•    Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects
•    Oversee other responsibilities as directed by management from time to time

 

WORK EXPERIENCE
1.    3–5 years of relevant experience in:
o    Project finance / cost control (preferred)
o    FP&A / management reporting
2.    Experience in energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive industries is advantageous
3.    Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred)

 

EDUCATION
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent (CPA/ACCA preferred)

•    Process oriented, with strong data-mining skills and a sharp eye for details. Able to deep dive into the data and be inquisitive and ask questions to fully understand the information.
•    Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and Powerpoint.
•    Manages relationships with Business Owners at the working level well with clear and strong communication abilities.
