Senior / Lead Process Engineer (contract)
General Overview
This position is part of the Owner’s Technical and Project Development Group that plays a critical role in the life cycle of the projects in SLNG from their conceptualization to commissioning and handover to Operations by validating and approving the design provided by the FEED and EPC Contractors for LNG regasification terminals. This position holder is responsible to provide process engineering inputs and reviewing process design provided by FEED and EPC Contractors. The post holder shall also ensure that the LNG Terminal is operated as per design and the control scheme is adequate for all operating scenarios. This position requires a candidate who has worked in FEED and EPC project environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:
- Participate in preparation of engineering analysis of Developmental projects & Project in execution stage.. some of the activities including preliminary design, calculations and equipment selection and preparing design specifications
- Review design work of FEED and EPC contractors to ensure it meets design basis requirement and project requirement, industry codes and standards and best practice in the industry
- Provide inputs to development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Logic Diagrams, schematics etc.
- Assist Engineering Manager to validate process design provided by FEED and EPC Contractors and ensure that the design is consistent with the design basis and other project requirements
- Manage engineering documents and comply to technical integrity in document management.
- Provide assistance to the commissioning and operation team to implement minor project within the plant.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during design, engineering and construction and commissioning of phases to ensure overall integrity.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL workshops, Model reviews, layout reviews and other process safety studies.
Work Experiences
- 10 to 15 years of experience in FEED and EPC Projects environments in oil and Gas Industry, preferably in LNG, LPG and/or cryogenics projects as a Process Engineer.
- Competent in Process design and Process control.
- Well versed in understanding various Process Design Aspects including Unisim modelling and Hydraulic calculations.
- Knowledge of the LNG / Natural Gas will be advantageous. Candidates with experience in cryogenics facilities including storage tank design will be preferred.
- Knowledge of installation, commissioning, operation and troubleshooting is added advantage
- Good understanding of process safety in plant design is a requirement

Education Requirements
- The incumbent should have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Performance Criteria
- Demostrating Process Safety, porcesses knowledge & process engineering management.
- Provide process engineering support to construction and commissioning and day to day running of LNG Terminal.
- Process optimization to control project cost.
