GENERAL OVERVIEW

 

This position is part of the Production team performing LNG Terminal operations of loading and unloading of LNG from vessels and re-gasification process of LNG for the natural gas pipeline network supply. The position requires the incumbent to perform fieldwork and operate the DCS. The incumbent will work closely with the marine, technical and maintenance team to perform the operations.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Perform routine field inspections, troubleshoot units and equipment and raise work orders for necessary maintenance
  • Oversee unloading of chemicals and utilities into receiving tanks
  • Execute jetty operations including vessels berthing, marine loading arms and act as Loading Master when required
  • Operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) to monitor and control terminal’s overall processes
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and operational records
  • Support other production activities such as vessel cool downs, cold energy transfer and LNG truck loading
  • Secure and prepare equipment and work site for maintenance activities (e.g. lock-out and tag-out (LOTO), de-energization of electrical systems) and perform basic maintenance such as strainer cleaning, flange make-up, gas cylinder replacement
  • Replenish process chemicals / additives and initiate re-stocking when necessary
  • Review and issue permit to work upon verification of safety checklist completion
  • Conduct fugitive emission leak detection (e.g. hydrocarbon) and implement immediate corrective actions
  • Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with safety and permit requirements
  • Undertake project related role when assigned, rotation between shift and day work.
  • Respond to emergency situations and support the prevention and containment of hazardous incidents such as oil spills, gas leaks and other forms of pollution and situations dangerous to life and property.
  • Conduct periodic safety check on work sites including gas testing for confined space activities
  • Perform routine safety check on all safety equipment such as safety showers, eye wash, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SBCA), firefighting equipment

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery or utilities industries
  • Experience in LNG operations or familiarity with cryogenic process (e.g. ethylene, ammonia, air separation or natural gas processing) and knowledge of plant instrumentation and control systems and DCS operations is preferred
  • Operational experience in similar hydrocarbon loading / unloading operations (e.g. LPG) or experience in plant commissioning and start-up will be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems including cryogenic and heat transfer equipment, compressors (centrifugal and reciprocating), LNG tanks, fired equipment and flare systems
  • Strong understanding of process plant safety procedures (e.g. confined space entry, LOTO, working at height, gas testing) including experience in issuing permit to work
  • Physically fit and able to carry out emergency response duties
  • Ability to distinguish and interpret colour-coded system for the purpose of operating the DCS effectively
  • Willing to perform rotating shift work, including weekends and public holidays
